William was born in Mount Zion, IL, and attended Mount Zion High School. At MZHS, he took classes taught by area artist Robert Dondeville, who encouraged William to further develop his art. William Doty currently resides in Madison, WI, pursuing a degree in Political Science and Economics with a Certificate in Studio Art. He hopes to further advance, develop, and spread his art.
